HMS Announces EPM Assessment Program

HMS expands its solutions offering with pre-packaged consulting services for organizations moving to enterprise-level project management.

Montreal September 27, 2004 - HMS Software, a leading provider of project management and enterprise timesheet solutions, announced today a series of pre-packaged consulting services for organizations considering implementing enterprise project management.

"We have specialized in the implementation of enterprise project management systems for over 20 years," said Chris Vandersluis, president of HMS Software. "We know that the challenges of successfully deploying an epm system have more to do with the non-technical issues than with the installation of software."

The consulting packages are designed in 3 and 5-day formats and are expected to provide clients with an assessment of their readiness to move from standalone project management to a more challenging integrated enterprise structure.

"Both programs will help a client move forward with their epm structure." says Director of HMS Software's Technical Services, Stephen Eyton-Jones. "Our 3-day assessment service lets us interview the appropriate personnel and determine a gap analysis of what this particular organization will need to do to get ready for an epm system deployment. Our 5-day Proof of Concept assistance will actually result in the installation and configuration of a Microsoft Project Server environment which the client can then use to train and test their processes."

HMS Consulting has extensive experience working with enterprise project management systems and specializes in the deployment of the Microsoft epm solution. "As one of only 19 Premiere-Level Microsoft Project Solution Providers worldwide, we arrive to high expectations." says Eyton-Jones. "Our experience over the years allows us to quickly identify potential challenges that the client may not even realize. Being better prepared by working on those challenges is often the difference between success and failure of the epm system."

Once an Assessment or a Proof of Concept is complete, HMS staff are available to assist the client with consulting and training services as required.

The two programs announced include:

EPM Assessment Service

This service involves having an HMS Consultant on-site for 3 days of assistance. Interviews and a skills assessment are conducted and a roadmap is delivered to the client at the end of the mandate with a list of what the client must work on in order to successfully proceed with an epm deployment. The cost of the EPM Assessment service is $4,500 USD or CDN

Proof of Concept Service

This 5 day service is for those clients who believe they should proceed with a Microsoft Project epm deployment. The consultant installs a Project Server system, configures it with enough information to be used for testing purposes and provides sufficient training for project personnel to begin testing their epm processes on the software itself. The cost of the Proof of Concept Service is $7,500USD or CDN.
