HMS Software named Canadian Distributor of The Project Group Products

The Project Group's SAP to Microsoft Project products allow integration between finance and project management

Montreal March 15, 2006 - HMS Software, a leading provider of project management and enterprise timesheet solutions, has announced today that it has been named the Canadian distributor of products produced by The Project Group GmbH of Germany. In particular PSLink™ a product which links Microsoft Project, Project Server and SAP and ResourceLink™ a product which allows Project Server Resources to be populated by external systems will be promoted in Canada by HMS.

"We're very excited about this new relationship with The Project Group," says Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS Software. "We've had a relationship with The Project Group for over 3 years and this opportunity to represent their products here in Canada is our first chance to formalize that relationship. We get requests on a regular basis from our clients to assist them with integrating their enterprise project management environments with their SAP Financial systems and, doing this with The Project Group Products will be infinitely easier."

"Achieving the Networking Infrastructure competency was a natural for us," explains Chris Vandersluis, president of HMS Software. "As a Microsoft Gold Certified partner who often works in the enterprise project management (EPM) arena, our consultants are constantly asked to assist with the design and deployment of servers and other network components. Our EPM deployments of Microsoft Project Server often involve connecting with multiple servers and Microsoft technologies such as Windows SharePoint Services, Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server, and Internet Information Services."

HMS Software's efforts will focus on two of The Project Group's products:

PSLink

PSLink SE is a solution that deeply integrates Microsoft Project with SAP. It is individually customized to fit each company's requirements and can be used in a wide range of ways. PSLink enables the bidirectional data exchange between Microsoft Project and SAP.

ResourceLink

ResourceLink enables users to not only perform the initial population of the Microsoft Project Server 2003 Enterprise Resource Pool, but also to continually update it. Any data source which supports XML exports can be supported including SAP, Active Directory, Navision and SQL Server. This makes it much easier for administrators to create, update, activate, deactivate, and delete resources in the Project Resource Pool.

The Project Group Managing Director, Stavros Georgantzis was also enthusiastic about including HMS Software among their list of alliance partners. "When we look for a distributor of The Project Group products," he said, "we look for an organization which has depth in the enterprise project management market, an established Fortune 500 clientele and a technical ability to deploy enterprise systems. HMS Software has all of those things and we're delighted to have them as our Canadian distributor."

Future work between The Project Group and HMS also include an integration of HMS Software's TimeControl as part of an integrated solution for Microsoft Project, SAP and enterprise timesheet capabilities.

"Microsoft Project personnel here in Canada are very excited about our representation of The Project Group products," said Vandersluis. "Like us, they receive many requests from their Microsoft Project and Project Server users to link their project management data into SAP. Now, these products will be represented and supported in Canada for the first time and that makes delivery of these solutions all the more palatable for their clients."

"We've already started work with HMS on how we can integrate their TimeControl enterprise timesheet system using our PSLink and ResourceLink products," says Georgantzis. "We believe that by working together we'll be able to deliver a best of breed solution to the project management market and yet have that solution be part of a truly seamless integration.
