HMS releases TimeControl version 7.1.1
Montreal, June 23, 2017 – HMS Software, publishers of TimeControl, the world’s most flexible timesheet system has announced the release of TimeControl version 7.1.1. This update to TimeControl includes significant new and enhanced features.
Version 7.1.1 includes one enhanced integration feature between TimeControl and SharePoint or and 2 new integrations with the BrightWork collaborative project and portfolio management system and with Microsoft Project Online. All of these new and enhanced features are included at no additional cost as a part of each of the TimeControl Editions: TimeControl, TimeControl Online and TimeControl Industrial.
Microsoft Project Online
Project Online is Microsoft’s in-the-cloud subscription service of Microsoft Project Server and is built on the Microsoft Office 365 service. There has been a link between TimeControl and every version of Microsoft Project and Project Server since 1995 and this latest integration extends the integration of TimeControl with Microsoft Project technology even further. Now TimeControl can integrate bi-directionally with Project Online in the cloud. Projects and new tasks can be scheduled to automatically update the list of possible charges in TimeControl. Users can see their timesheet automatically populated by assignments in Project Online and the resulting timesheet data is transferred back as task update progress on a schedule or on demand. This brings the power of a Finance-quality timesheet to Project Online for the first time and allows a single timesheet to be used to update tasks in Project Online as well as for payroll, HR, billing, job costing, DCAA or other auditable requirements. Other links for Microsoft Project on the desktop or Microsoft Project Server installed on premise will continue to be supported and TimeControl will even support linking to multiple systems at once so an environment consisting of some Microsoft Project desktop licenses, some Project Server licenses and some Project Online licenses could be fully supported within the same timesheet.

BrightWork
BrightWork has brought the power of collaboration to the project and portfolio management systems industry with its flexible set of templates, functions and processes built on a SharePoint platform. The bi-directional integration between TimeControl and BrightWork allows BrightWork tasks to be moved to the TimeControl timesheet and the TimeControl time, cost and progress date to be returned to the BrightWork project. This combination of collaborative project and portfolio management with a fully auditable timesheet system makes updating BrightWork that much simpler for the end user who can now fulfill his progress timesheet reporting at the same time as his payroll, billing, HR or job costing reporting. The link works with both BrightWork on premise or BrightWork Online in the cloud.

SharePoint
TimeControl has had a single-direction link with SharePoint for some time but in this version of TimeControl, that link is significantly enhanced. Instead of the read-only link from SharePoint that existed previously in TimeControl, version 7.1.1 brings a bi-directional integration. The link is highly flexible, allowing administrators to determine how to define a project and task from the SharePoint lists and what fields will be used to send back actual hours, costs or even estimates to complete in progress. The link works with both SharePoint on premise or SharePoint Online within Office 365.

TimeControl version 7.1.1 is available for clients with a current support and maintenance agreement at no additional charge from the TimeControl upgrades site: TimeControl.com/support/updates. TimeControl Online users will be upgraded automatically in the coming weeks.
