HMS Announces Revamped Web Environment
HMS expands one of the oldest and most extensive project management sites on the internet in a major revision.
Montreal November 1, 2004 - HMS Software, a leading provider of project management and enterprise timesheet solutions, announced today a major revision of its web environment. HMS Software is the publisher of TimeControl, an enterprise timesheet system designed for project environments. The main HMS Software website located at www.hms.ca is one of the oldest websites on the Internet and one of the most extensive Project Management oriented sites. HMS has announced that it will divide the site into three distinct but connected web sites.
"One of the challenges of the HMS Software website has been the tremendous volume of materials," explains Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS. "Having been in the project management systems business for over 20 years now, we have amassed a remarkable amount of material that we strive to make available for both our clients and those interested in enterprise project management and enterprise timesheet management. We felt that this revision would allow interested parties to find relevant materials in a more effective manner."
The HMS Software website has been in existence since the late 1980's. Its earliest version predates popular browsers such as Internet Explorer and Netscape. "We laugh about it now," says Vandersluis, "but our earliest version had to take into account that most web content was text based rather than graphical. Of course once the early graphical browsers were released in the early 90s the design of the site had to change to reflect it. We've had many revisions since then to keep up with changing technology but this is one of the most significant changes to our entire web environment ever."
The new design will allow the HMS Software content to be divided into three distinct areas:
Main Corporate Site
HMS will continue to maintain its main corporate presence at www.hms.ca where information about the organization, its clients, alliance partners and generic resources such as the popular project management resource directory and the extensive collection of project management articles, white papers and presentations will reside.
As the publishers of TimeControl, one of the world's most popular enterprise timesheet systems for project environments, HMS will create a new website at www.timecontrol.com. This site will be home to product and service information about TimeControl along with the extensive information regarding the implementation of TimeControl and the tools with which it is integrated such as Microsoft Project, Primavera's P3e and TeamPlay and Welcom's Open Plan. Included with the new TimeControl site will also be free TrialSize copies of TimeControl, interactive support information for TimeControl clients, and a revolutionary area called the MyTimeControl Community area which will allow TimeControl users to exchange elements such as TimeControl reports and business rules with other users.
A new website at www.hms.ca will become home to information on HMS Software's service business including its project management consulting and training practice and on HMS Software's assistance for the implementation of Microsoft Project and Project Server. Also included in this site will be the new Microsoft Project Resource Directory.
TimeControl was originally released in 1994. It was immediately successful in the project management sector and today is recognized not only as a project management solution, but also as an enterprise timesheet solution in use by companies worldwide. TimeControl is designed as a multipurpose timesheet able to serve the needs of both Finance and Project Management simultaneously. It includes features such as a multi-browser, multi-device interface, a PC and mobile interface, vacation approvals, executive dashboards, extensive approval functionality, flexible reporting and links to project management and corporate systems which makes the timesheet product ideally suited for integration with existing systems in any organization. TimeControl's flexibility allows it to be deployed for use as a time and attendance, time and billing, project tracking and flex-time system.
