HMS Software completes Microsoft's new Enterprise Project MAnagement EPM Specialty

HMS becomes one of a small number of Canadian Microsoft Gold Certified Partners to complete the EPM Specialization

Montreal May 23, 2006 - HMS Software, a leading provider of project management and enterprise timesheet solutions, has received confirmation that it has achieved Microsoft's Enterprise Project Management (EPM) certification. This new specialization is part of the Microsoft Information Worker Competency that HMS has been certified in for over a year. As a Microsoft Gold Certified partner, this specialization establishes HMS as a small number of Microsoft Project specialist partners who have achieved Microsoft's highest standard.

HMS joined the Microsoft Project Solution Provider program in 1995 and is one of Microsoft's oldest Project partners.

The EPM specialization is awarded to Microsoft partners who have passed externally managed tests in both Project technology and implementation methodology and who have established and verified references in this area. Partners who qualify have a proven track record in deploying Microsoft Project and Project Server.

"This specialization is very important for us," says Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS Software. "As an established Microsoft Gold Certified partner we are already regarded as a company with a high degree of competence in Microsoft's technology but the EPM specialization demonstrates that we have not only the expertise but also satisfied clients who have already used our services to deploy Project Server."

This specialization is part of the Information Worker Competency. HMS Software has achieved three of Microsoft's 13 competencies. The others are the Networking Infrastructure Competency and the Independent Software Vendor Competency.

"HMS has two aspects to our business. Both are intimately involved with Microsoft Project," says Stephen Eyton-Jones, HMS Software's Director of Technical Services. On the service side of the company, we deploy Project Server to mid to large sized organizations. On our software development side, our TimeControl timesheet system is linked to Finance systems as well as Project and Project Server."

This achievement has not gone unnoticed by Microsoft Headquarters in Redmond, Washington. "We're delighted to see HMS Software complete the EPM Specialization," explains Irwin Rodrigues, Director for Microsoft Project at Microsoft HQ. "As one of our long standing Gold Certified Partners, this achievement allows us to identify HMS to our clients as one of our partners with extensive experience and expertise in our EPM Solution."
