Oracle renews Technical Partnership with HMS Software
Montreal – April 26, 2016 – HMS Software, publishers of TimeControl, one of the world's most popular timesheet systems announced today that they have renewed their technical alliance for a nineteenth consecutive year. Oracle has named HMS as a Gold Partner for the 2016-2017 season.
“Our partnership with Oracle stretches back to 1997, “explains Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS Software. “HMS and Oracle worked together that year to ensure that our TimeControl timesheet software would support an Oracle database architecture. That was the first time we were part of the Oracle Partner program. That same year HMS became part of the Primavera Partner program thanks to TimeControl’s links to Primavera’s project management software. When Oracle purchased Primavera many years later, these two initiatives blended together into the rich relationship we enjoy today.”
The TimeControl timesheet system now supports numerous Oracle technologies including the MySQL database and links with Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards. Oracle and HMS team together regularly to support their mutual clients.
The Oracle Partner program enables software publishers such as HMS to work directly with Oracle to more effectively bring products and services to each other's clients. This allows both HMS and Oracle to offer clients combinations of functionality, architecture and subject matter expertise that delivers richer, more functional, and more secure solutions. Being an Oracle Gold Partner provides HMS with early access to Oracle technology and expertise that ensures that TimeControl is able to support Oracle products as soon as they are released.
"The depth of the integration between TimeControl and Oracle-Primavera would be impossible if we were not an Oracle Gold Partner," explains Stephen Eyton-Jones, HMS Software's Director of Technical Services. "Being able to test TimeControl with P6 before its next release means that our clients don’t need to wait to upgrade when a new version of P6 or P6-EPPM is released."
The link between the TimeControl timesheet system and Oracle-Primavera allows clients to move their data bi-directionally between the two systems completely in the background and provide financial quality timesheet and costing data to both Primavera for task updating and Finance modules of the organization such as payroll, HR, job costing and invoicing. Using TimeControl with Primavera means that clients can use a single timesheet entry for multiple purposes.
The configurable link between TimeControl and Oracle Primavera allows for project, task, resource, and assignment information to be moved from the project management system and actual hours, costs, task progress and even steps to move from TimeControl back to Oracle Primavera.
Some of TimeControl's value-added benefits when linking with Oracle-Primavera include: multiple rates per employee, automated business rule validations, automated workflow, missing timesheet notification, simultaneous support for multiple versions of Oracle Primavera, both a browser and mobile/tablet interface and matrix timesheet approvals with HMS's unique Matrix Approval Process for Labor Actuals™. This process allows project managers to be able to approve hours task-by-task and departmental supervisors to approve hours and costs with an unlimited number of approval levels.
TimeControl's Industrial version also includes crew timesheets and field-data-collection capabilities to update Primavera and Finance with material consumption, equipment usage and even production accomplished information.
"We are very proud to be an Oracle Gold Partner,” says Vandersluis. “This is one of the longest standing technical relationships in the industry and we only see it becoming stronger in the years to come."
